Rode Wireless Go II, Real World Live Test...
So i decided to bring my new Rode Wireless Go II to a live performance by the extremely talented Nyla Sostre, here in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. There is no better way for me to see if the equipment is worth it than putting it up to the task in a real-world situation where I have little control over the environment.

This was an open mic so small production and very unpredictable. lol. For the test, I mic'd up Nyla with one of the Transceivers (I purchased the 2 Transceiver setup) and I kept the other transceiver on myself. The goal was to of course catch Nyla's vocals but also get ambient noise from the audience where I was standing. I am definitely a newbie to audio,( if you don't count the Rode Podcaster Pro I've been using for my Twitter Spaces...) so I definitely will continue to post more content as I get more comfortable with the mic setup. Tell me in the comment section below if you have any tips or tricks for me.
Spike Lee throws Brooklyn Block Party celebrating 30th anniversary of Iconic film ”Do The Right Thing”
Do The Right Thing Way, became official back in July of 2015 and is the official location for Spike Lee's annual Block Party! Spike makes it a point to return to the very location where he filmed the thought-provoking story some 30 years ago. DTRT like so many of Spike’s other films tells the story of the Brooklynites and the Greater Black Community.

Spike Brought out several guest throughout the 7-hour event including his castmates from the film Rosie Perez and Giancarlo Esposito , as well Les Twins, Public Enemy, and many others! I did spend much time at the gathering as I has to hit another event afterwards but I did manage to capture some really great photos! You can check out my full gallery below! My favorite shots have to be the dance battle that broke out during DJ Spinna’s set.
Am I My Brother’s/Sister’s Keeper?
Last week I had the pleasure of linking up with a few of my fellow creatives, we gave our raw unscripted takes for a new series called Closed Captions. Wee spoke about the on going Robert Kelly saga, the latest viral fast food fight and brought some solutions to the Black Communities struggle.

Back to streets, check out my YouTube channel relaunch!
So I finally got around to taking YouTube serious, and started vlogging. I decided since I’m making an effort to put out more video content for myself I could use my return to journalism as a great intro video.
So I finally got around to taking YouTube serious, and started vlogging. I decided since I’m making an effort to put out more video content for myself I could use my return to journalism as a great intro video. Those who follow my periscope and twitter accounts are most familiar with my coverage of the NYC activism specifically the Black Lives Matter movement. This fist vlog has some photos as well as a short clip from a demonstration paying respect to Sandra Bland who died while in police custody back in 2015.
The second have of the vlog showcases some of the talent from Legendary Cyphers. L.C is a weekly hip hop event which is free to the public held in Union Sq Park. Emcees from all over the city gather along with hundreds of spectators throughout the night enjoying hip hop in it's true authentic form. You can watch my first ”episode” below!
Hope y'all enjoy the first of many more videos too come. There is quite a few dope events popping up here in NYC so go subscribe and stay tuned I'm coming with more content!
